國家級太倉港經濟技術開發區背靠長江第一大港——太倉港，是太倉實施“以港強市”戰略的主陣地，擁有國家一類口岸、國家級綜合保稅區、港口型國家物流樞紐等國家級“名片”。經過30多年的發展，形成了世界500強、中央企業、歐美企業三個特色企業集群，構建了高端裝備、先進材料、健康醫藥、現代物貿四大主導產業，航空航天、新能源等新興產業加快集聚，是全球最大的集裝箱制造基地、亞洲最大的高端潤滑油生產基地、華東最大的個人健康護理產品生產基地、長三角具有影響力的現代物貿基地。
National-level Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone (shortened as “TPDZ”), backed by the Yangtze River's largest port - Taicang Port, is the main position of Taicang's implementation of the strategy of “Strengthen the City by the Port”, which have the national class of port, the national comprehensive bonded zone, port-type national logistics hub and other national level “Business card”.
